March 2000 - January 2001:
SLO Media LLC, San Luis Obispo, CA

As Program Manager, headed the technology team's projects including Website engineering, digital media client-server applications, DiVX (MPEG4) video transcoding software, and DRM (digital rights management) integration.

August 1993 - January 2000:
Xing Technology/RealNetworks, San Luis Obispo, CA

Held positions as Manager of Technical Support, Director of Quality Assurance, and Program Manager. Participated in development of Xing's groundbreaking digital audio/video and streaming products including the XingMPEG Player, StreamWorks, and AudioCatalyst. Performed and later managed all tech support, tech writing, and software testing. Managed Xing's largest division consisting of over 20 technicians. After RealNetwork's acquisition of Xing in August 1999, maintained Program Manager position and assisted in the transition of management responsibilities to RealNetwork's Seattle headquarters.

December 1990 - July 1993:
Information Presentation Technologies, San Luis Obispo, CA

Responsible for technical support, technical writing, and software testing of UNIX-based AppleTalk applications, OPI print spoolers, Network Admin. tools for NeXT, Macintosh, PC, and Solaris platforms, and multi-media tools for Macintosh.

February 1987 - August 1990:
The WEFA Group & Kelshawn Printing, Philadelphia, PA

As an Electronic Publishing Specialist, published thousands of electronic and hard-copy documents utilizing UNIX, PCM, Macintosh, and DOS applications, as well as traditional photo-typesetters, cameras, and mechanical paste-up tools. Developed automated tools for manipulating page mark-up and vector graphics code using UNIX Shell and SED scripts.

Born 4/30/1963 in Philadelphia, PA. Raised in Turnersville, NJ.

In 1986, received BA in English from Elizabethtown College, Elizabethtown, PA.

Moved to Los Osos, CA in 1990. Live in Los Osos with wife, Bonnie Richan, and our daughter, AnneMarie (born May 2001). Other interests include yoga and fatherhood.
